PFD Technician 1/2 Positions

The Permanent Fund Dividend Division of the Alaska Department of Revenue is recruiting for multiple PFD Technician 1/2 positions in Juneau, Alaska. This position is open to Alaska residents only. You must meet this requirement to be considered for this position.

What You Will Be Doing:

The role of Permanent Fund Dividend Technician revolves around helping the public with everything they need to apply for and receive their annual Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend. Technicians follow specific rules and procedures to determine eligibility, managing their own caseload and conducting research while applying the program's governing Statutes and Regulations. This position spends most of the day interacting with Alaska's diverse population, making sure everyone gets the assistance they need.

Minimum Qualifications

PFD Technician 1 Minimum Qualifications (Range 10): High school graduation or GED And six months of journey level clerical work. PFD Technician 2 Minimum Qualifications (Range 12): High school graduation or GED And either the successful completion of the PFD Tech 1 flexible training plan criteria OR one year of entry level technical experience completing, processing and auditing documents and providing technical information in support of an agency or program. The required experience includes work such as PFD Technician 1, Retirement and Benefits Technician 1, Motor Vehicle Customer Service Representative 1 and Tax Technician 1 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent with another employer. OR two years of advanced clerical experience performing work which requires knowledge, understanding, and the ability to apply appropriate criteria, rules, regulations, and policies and procedures to determine discrepancies, omissions, recognize errors, take appropriate action and explain requirements to others. The required experience includes work such as Administrative Clerk 3 and Human Resource Assistant, with the State of Alaska or the equivalent with another employer.

BACKGROUND CHECK

FLEXIBLY STAFFED

This position is flexibly staffed. This vacancy may be filled at either the 1 or 2 level, depending on the applicant's training and/or experience. The full range of salaries is listed above. Starting salary will be determined by the level the position is hired at. If filled at Level 1, promotion to the Level 2 will occur upon successful completion of the probationary period and required training, as well as the applicant meeting the minimum qualifications of the higher job class.
