Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) for a night shift contract at a children's hospital setting requiring Level I experience.

Details

• Respiratory Care department serving pediatric patients across all age levels served by the facility
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• 26-week contract length
• Must have Level I experience
• Previous work in a children's only hospital is preferred

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program
• Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (license required if applicable)
• Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care
• BLS required upon hire
• ACLS required within 3 months of hire
• RRT credential required within 12 months of hire
• Minimum of 1 year of experience required
• 2 years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred
• AHA-issued certifications only
• Knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, techniques, and equipment operation and repair
• Clinical decision-making skills related to pulmonary and cardiac care across patient age ranges
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Basic computer skills

Additional Information

• Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by medical staff
• Document treatment information and patient response in the computerized medical record
• Act as a clinical resource for medical staff
• Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and patient monitoring
• Provide age-appropriate respiratory care
• Maintain and clean respiratory equipment
• Maintain respiratory therapy records
• Serve as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
• Full DOB and SSN required for consideration
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Returning travelers may extend contracts once for a total of 26 weeks, with a required 6-month separation before reapplying
• Credentialing and compliance deadlines are strictly enforced with no push starts allowed
• 30-day written notice required for early cancellation or ending an assignment
