The Residence Inn by Marriott in beautiful Sedona, AZ is looking for their next amazing Front Office Supervisor to join a great team of associates looking for their next wonderful leader!This position will function as a crucial leader for the property, spearheading best-in-class customer service, handling daily guest requests and issues, and acting as the MOD when the Assistant Manager is not present.The shifts for this position can vary based on needs of the hotel, but will have both evening and weekend availability required. The primary shift worked will be a mid shift, roughly 12:00pm-8:30pm, with opportunity for AM shift desk coverage, PM shift desk coverage, and overnight desk coverage, some of which is last minute. The perfect candidate for this job loves to train team members on ways we can be better, celebrate team members on ways they are excelling, enjoys providing exceptional customer service to every guest, and is able to make good, thoughtful decisions to solve problems for staff and guests as they arise. Although not required, a strong background in leading a customer service team is strongly preferred.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Performs functions of Guest Service Agent as scheduled by ManagementProvides training, including safety training, to front office staff as directed by ManagementAssists in the selection of Guest Service AgentsAssists in scheduling front desk personnel within budget guidelines to assure adequate staffingMaintains accurate records including cash flow sheet, direct bill accounts, credit card payments, registration cards,and reservation cardsCorresponds with group and travel agents to answer special requests for rooms and ratesAssists with sales and marketing efforts as directedAssigns duties to Guest Service Agents and observes performance to ensure adherence to franchise standards,hotel policies and established operating proceduresAnswers inquires pertaining to hotel policies and servicesPerforms functions of the General Manager in their absenceAssists General Manager in conducting staff meetingsAll other duties as assignedCOMPETENCY: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Develops alternative solutions; Usesreason even when dealing with emotional topics.Customer Service - Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs;Responds to requests for service and assistance.Interpersonal - Maintains confidentiality.Oral Communication - Responds well to questions; Demonstrates group presentation skills;Team Work - Contributes to building a positive team spirit.Written Communication - Writes clearly and informatively; Able to read and interpret written information.Managing People - Makes self available to staff; Continually works to improve supervisory skills.Organizational Support - Follows policies and procedures including but not limited to, dress code policiesAdaptability - Adapts to changes in the work environment; Manages competing demands; Able to deal withfrequent change, delays, or unexpected events.Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered whenabsent; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.Dependability - Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals.Initiative - Asks for and offers help when needed.Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities.Professionalism - Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.Quality - Looks for ways to improve and promote qualityQuantity - Strives to increase productivity.Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Usesequipment and materials properly.QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
