Civil Litigation Attorney

Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid)

We’re seeking a skilled Civil Litigation Attorney to join a well-established law firm supporting a busy litigation team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in insurance defense, general liability, premises liability, construction defect, product liability, and employment defense matters , along with strong skills in motion practice, discovery, depositions, and case strategy . You’ll play a key role in defending clients, managing cases, and driving litigation strategy in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Role Expectations:

• Manage a caseload from inception through resolution, including strategy development, filings, and client communication
• Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and other legal documents on behalf of defendants
• Handle all phases of discovery, including depositions, interrogatories, and document review
• Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
• Collaborate with attorneys, insurers, and clients on case strategy and trial preparation.

Qualifications:

• JD from an accredited law school
• Active California Bar admission (required)
• 2+ years of civil litigation defense experience (insurance defense preferred)
• Strong experience with motion practice, discovery, and depositions
• Experience handling liability-based cases (general liability, premises, or similar)

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $150,000 – $200,000 . Factors which may affect pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
