Company Description
Metropolis Logistics LLC is an Amazon Delivery Service Partner based in Elmsford, NY. We run daily last-mile delivery routes across Westchester with a team of about 100 Delivery Associates, and we are hiring a Part-Time Dispatcher to help run the station floor. No overnight shifts.
Job Description
The schedule: about 20-25 hours a week - 4 to 5 hours on weekdays (afternoon/closing shifts) and 7 to 8 hours on a weekend day, with one weekend day expected. Full-time hours available by mixing in a day or two on the road.
- Run opening or closing set-up and stand-down
- Track route progress and re-route drivers when needed using mapping and GPS tools
- Be the link between drivers, warehouse staff and management
- Handle a high volume of driver and customer calls with accurate, complete information
- Resolve delivery issues and customer complaints, and follow up to closure
- Manage on-road incidents and accidents calmly and by procedure
- Keep the shift record and dispatch sheets current (Google Sheets/Docs)
- Dispatch or logistics experience, ideally at an Amazon DSP or in last-mile delivery
- Strong customer service and clear spoken and written English; Spanish is a plus
- Comfortable with Google Sheets/Docs, mapping/GPS programs and basic computer work
- A smartphone with a data plan for work use
- Genuine weekend availability and flexibility to adjust hours to operating needs
- Valid driver's license preferred - dispatchers occasionally move vans and trucks
- Eligible to work in the U.S.; 18 years of age
