Description

Job Summary: The Deli Cook prepares and cooks food items for customers in a deli, grocery store, restaurant, or food service establishment. They ensure all food is prepared according to recipes, quality standards, and food safety regulations while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and assemble breakfast bar foods such as eggs, bacon, hot meals, lunch options, dinner options and other menu items.
• Innovate, and create new recipes
• Use deli equipment.
• Maintain food quality, freshness, and presentation standards.
• Follow recipes and portion-control guidelines.
• Monitor food temperatures and adhere to food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Stock and rotate ingredients and supplies according to FIFO (First In, First Out) practices.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Assist with inventory management and report shortages to supervisors.
• Serve customers courteously and answer questions about menu items.
• Comply with company policies, health regulations, and safety standards.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cooking, deli, or food service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and sanitation practices.
• Ability to operate kitchen and deli equipment safely.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
