About the Role:

Imagination Childcare Academy, Inc. in Rochester, NY is looking for a passionate and nurturing Assistant Teacher to join their dedicated team! Responsibilities:

• Support the lead teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and daily activities
• Supervise and engage children in educational play, arts and crafts, and structured learning exercises
• Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment
• Assist with daily routines including meals, nap time, and transitions
• Observe and document children's developmental progress and behavior
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's daily activities and milestones
• Ensure compliance with childcare licensing regulations and safety standards

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required; coursework in Early Childhood Education (ECE) preferred
• Prior experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient, compassionate, and enthusiastic about early childhood development
• Ability to pass a background check and meet NYS childcare licensing requirements
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Reliable, punctual, and a true team player
