For more information, visit: The Chickahominy Health District is seeking an experienced and mission-driven professional to serve as its Health District Director. This leadership role is responsible for directing all medical, nursing, environmental health, administrative, and other public health services within the district. Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct supervision, leadership, and performance management for district staff.
• Assign, review, and prioritize work; resolve workflow and personnel matters in partnership with program leadership and HR.
• Ensure staff meet training requirements, maintain workplace safety, and receive regular performance evaluations.
• Apply core public health principles and carry out responsibilities delegated by the State Health Commissioner.
• Lead efforts to improve community health through assessment, assurance, and active participation in policy development.
• Conduct or collaborate on formal assessments of community health indicators across localities.
• Design, plan, and oversee public health programs; serve as subject-matter expert for government, healthcare, and community partners.
• Maintain accountability to VDH, local governments, federal agencies, and grantors for the responsible use of all allocated resources.
• Ensure funds are used legally, appropriately, and efficiently to support program operations.
• Pursue strategies to maximize earned revenue and advance the impact of public funding through collaboration.
• Support Executive Order 20 (2014) and the Agency Procurement Plan in all procurement and vendor decisions. This recruitment qualifies for exceptional recruitment and incentive options, and a hiring incentive such as leave or a bonus may be considered. Benefits

• Extensive (5+ years) experience in leading or directing a public health organization
• Comprehensive experience and demonstrated skill in administering a broad array of public health programs
