Assistant Fitness Manager

As an Assistant Fitness Manager, you will primarily conduct welcome workouts with new members, guide them through their initial fitness experiences at our gym, and help them start a personal training program. You’ll report to the Fitness Manager and play a crucial role in driving personal training sales and fostering member relationships. Responsibilities Ensure daily sales targets are met, especially during weekends or in the Fitness Manager’s absence. Promote personal training packages and build strong rapport with members to drive sales. Achieve and exceed sales targets for personal training services and small‑group training sessions. Collaborate with the membership sales team to support new member onboarding and smooth transitions into the club experience. Conduct personalized welcome workouts for new members to evaluate their fitness needs and goals. Guide new members through their initial club experience, fostering a positive environment that promotes retention and engagement. Facilitate professional development for personal trainers through regular coaching sessions and continuous support. Communicate goals, expectations, and procedures to staff members to ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities. Supervise maintenance and cleanliness of the facility, including equipment, locker rooms, and common areas. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintain proper certifications, and implement safety protocols. Qualifications 2‑3 years of customer service experience. 1 year of sales experience. 1 year of supervisory experience. Strong interest or experience in the fitness industry. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong relationship‑building and influencing skills with people at all levels. Attention to detail, systematic problem‑solving, and effective time‑management and organizational skills. Alignment with our Core Values. Essential Requirements Must be available to work nights and weekends. Must successfully pass a background check. Must have a valid Personal Training certification. CPR certification required within 30 days of hire. Physical ability to work in a gym setting, including moving around gym floors, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs. Ability to access and operate company computer systems, prepare documents, and enter data. Compensation Hourly Position – Additional Compensation Eligible $18.50 – $20.50 USD Variable income opportunities including commission and bonus. Post‑training salary increase.
