Tax Accountant

A national real estate development and investment firm is adding a Tax Accountant to its in-house tax team in Miami. You will prepare returns across a diverse portfolio of partnerships, corporations, trusts and individuals, working directly from the books rather than handing work off. It is a chance to build depth in real estate tax structures with regular hours outside of peak deadlines.

What you will do

  • Own federal and state return preparation for partnerships, C and S corporations, trusts and individuals
  • Tie the general ledger to the return: reconcile accounts, build workpapers and resolve book-to-tax differences
  • Run quarterly estimates and tax projections
  • Handle multi-state income and franchise tax filings
  • Clear reviewer comments and chase open items through to filing
  • Support tax research, planning and special projects across the portfolio

What we are looking for

  • 2+ years preparing federal and state income tax returns in public accounting or an in-house tax department
  • Hands-on experience with partnership, corporate and trust returns
  • Comfortable working inside QuickBooks ledgers and reconciling accounts
  • Professional tax software experience (CCH a plus) and strong Excel
  • Bachelor's in Accounting; CPA or CPA-track a plus, not required
  • Organized, dependable and able to manage multiple deadlines independently
