Job Title: LVN / LPN Profession: LVN / LPN Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: NY license required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Mandatory competency with phlebotomy - Competency in placing IVs Description: This position is for a 14-bed overflow unit to accommodate patients. The unit will care for overflow patients from the Emergency Department. It is a medical-surgical telemetry unit. The number of patients may vary depending on demand and patient numbers. LPNs may not assume the assignment and will act as resources. Candidates will need experience with patient care and associated skills. Staff will need to communicate patient status changes effectively. A variety of clinical skills are required for patient management. RNs must have proficiency in phlebotomy and IV placement as a core responsibility. Staff will float based on needs. Minimal restrictions on time off are expected. Weekend coverage may be required every other week. Effective communication within the team is essential.
