Role - Forward Deployed Engineer

Location - New York or San Francisco, currently remote, moving to in-person

Salary - $130K-$160K base + equity + bonus

About the Role

We're working with an early-stage, well-funded AI company building a real-time platform used in high-impact, real-world environments.

Their product is designed to sit directly within customer workflows, combining AI with live operational systems to drive meaningful outcomes, not just insights or prototypes.

They're now hiring Forward Deployed Engineers to work at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer delivery.

This is a high-impact, high-ownership role, working directly with end users to implement solutions, shape workflows, and ensure the product performs in real production environments.

Key Responsibilities

Work directly with customers to deploy and adapt AI systems in live environments
Translate business requirements into technical solutions
Build and customise workflows using the platform
Partner closely with engineering teams to improve product functionality
Troubleshoot issues in production and iterate quickly
Act as a technical partner to clients, owning delivery and outcomes

What We're Looking For

3 to 4 years experience across software engineering and business or client-facing work
Strong technical foundation, ideally in backend or systems engineering
Experience working closely with customers, stakeholders, or end users
Ability to understand business problems and translate them into technical solutions
Strong communication skills, comfortable in client-facing settings
High ownership mindset, comfortable operating in fast-moving environments
Experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer or similar role is a plus
Exposure to AI, ML, or data-driven systems is beneficial
