Job Summary:

The Level II Registered Nurse (RN) in Medical-Surgical is responsible for delivering competent nursing care based on established standards through clinical practice, service excellence, professional development, and evidence-based practice. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, this role may include expanded responsibilities such as charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member. The RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care and safety in a fast-paced hospital environment. Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to medical-surgical patients following established protocols and standards.
• Perform patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and case management.
• Serve in expanded roles including charge nurse, preceptor for new staff, and participation in committees as assigned.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and clinical activities.
• Promote patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.
• Engage in professional development and evidence-based practice to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in medical-surgical or hospital settings.
• Proficiency in clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning.
• Strong interdisciplinary team collaboration skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in charge nurse or preceptor roles.
• Familiarity with hospital committees and quality improvement processes.
• Additional certifications related to medical-surgical nursing or specialty areas.

Special Considerations:

• Position includes day shifts only, with 4 consecutive 12-hour shifts.
• May require flexibility to cover charge nurse or preceptor duties as assigned.
• Work environment is a hospital medical-surgical unit requiring ability to work in a fast-paced setting.

Scheduling:

• Day shift schedule: 4 consecutive 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:00.
• Contractual duration of 13 weeks starting from the specified start date.
