Lead Full Stack Java Developer

Job Overview
Perficient is seeking a talented Team Lead Full Stack Java Developer to join our team remotely from anywhere in the United States or Canada. As a Lead Full Stack Developer, you’ll be integral to the software development lifecycle, from estimating and technical design to implementation, documentation, testing, deployment, and support. You’ll collaborate with solution architects and developers to translate wireframes and creative designs into functional and technical requirements.

Responsibilities

Lead technical planning and requirements gathering phases, including estimation, development, testing, project management, and delivery.

Address all requirements, feedback, scoping, and design issues or questions directly with clients.

Understand the unique business and technical requirements of each engagement and facilitate appropriate solution design communications.

Develop technical documentation and user stories.

Estimate project development and unit testing efforts.

Develop and unit test code components as per user stories.

Conduct code audits and reviews as required.

Ensure best practices and client standards are followed during implementation, deployment, and backup.

Serve as a technical lead and mentor, providing technical support or leadership in service development and improvement.

Adapt and work with team members of various experience levels.

Maintain effective working relationships with team members and clients.

Participate in the creation of WBS and backlog per sprint and assist PM in project planning.

Independently manage assigned tasks.

Lead and manage an offshore development and QA team.

Attend sprint planning, retrospective meetings, daily stand-ups, and report technical blockers to the team.

Qualifications

Passionate coder with 10+ years of application development experience.

Minimum 7 years of programming experience with Java/J2EE.

Minimum 5 years of experience with Spring Boot Frameworks.

Minimum 5 years of experience with API development.

Minimum 2 years of experience with front-end technologies such as React, Angular, or similar modern UI frameworks.

Experience working with AWS.

Experience in Microservice design for complex systems with strong knowledge of Microservice patterns.

Expertise in event-driven architecture (EDA) in conjunction with Microservices.

Experience in API lifecycle management.

Experience leading, managing, and mentoring global distributed development teams.

Full lifecycle development experience with Agile/Scrum project approach.

Client-facing and/or consulting experience.

Excellent communication skills, able to explain and present concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including high-level decision-makers.

Solid foundation in Computer Science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.

Financial Services or Insurance domain background is a plus.

Salary Range
$73,008 to $170,640, considering various factors such as skill sets, experience, location, training, licensure, and certifications. This range reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits, potential equity, or variable bonus programs. Compensation decisions depend on each candidate’s unique facts and circumstances.
