The role requires working the night shift. Ratios are 1:4 for patient care. Two years of experience in a similar setting is mandatory. Weekend shifts are required, with two shifts every other weekend. Nurses will be expected to float to lower acuity floors as needed. Experience with titration of various medications and management of high-acuity patients is essential. The unit provides acute medical care and serves as a step-down from the ICU. Daily patient census is approximately 25. Registered nurses should be proficient in various procedures and equipment specific to the care level of the unit. Float requirements include assisting across units within the nursing service line. This position does not require on-call duties. Travel nurses should have been at the bedside within the last six months. Specific advanced skills related to arterial line management, cardiac telemetry, and management of ventilated patients are required. Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience with cardiac drips and sedation practices. Maintaining high standards for patient care is a critical aspect of this position. Registered nurses will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary support teams. Special procedures and equipment experience are non-negotiable. Successful candidates will adapt to the dynamically changing needs of patient care.
