Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years required License: Must have active state license in hand or in application process to apply Certifications: BLS required, CNOR preferred Must-Have: - General OR and Trauma experience required - Level I trauma experience required - Required case experience includes: - Bariatric: Laparoscopic assisted cases - General Surgery: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair, Mastectomy, Thyroidectomy, Whipple - Client: Cervical fusion, Craniotomy, Laminectomy/discectomy, Lumbar fusion - Orthopedic: Arthroscopy, Carpal Tunnel release, Closed and Open reduction of fractures - Plastic Surgery: Free Flap - Microvascular - Transplant: Organ donation - Urology: Cystoscopy, Nephrectomy, Prostatectomy - Trauma: Amputations, Gunshot/stab wounds, Motor Vehicle Accident - Emergency management: Code response, Fire safety, Latex Allergy, Malignant Hyperthermia - Required equipment experience: Electrosurgical units, Fiber optic light sources/cords Description: This position requires a skilled nurse to work in the operating room. The nurse will work with all service lines except cardiovascular. Must have experience in various surgical procedures. Responsibilities include assisting in surgeries, monitoring patients, and ensuring a sterile environment. The nurse will work a 3x12 days weekend block schedule. Weekend commitment is required. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for this role. Candidates will adhere to protocols and ensure patient safety at all times. Floating may occur within skills set when necessary. All requested time off must be reviewed and approved by management. Candidates must demonstrate adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
