Medical Laboratory Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist(Full Time, Nights)$10,000 Sign-On Bonus$30 to $40 per hourJob SummaryOur growing, locally owned and managed, not-for-profit health system is looking for a Medical Laboratory Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform moderate and high-complexity laboratory testing while delivering precise, accurate, and timely results to support patient diagnosis and treatment. This role analyzes biological specimens, ensures quality control and regulatory compliance, and communicates critical information to clinical teams in an acute care hospital environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCollect, prepare, store, and transport specimens using correct techniques and protocolsPerform moderate and high-complexity laboratory testing per CLIA '88 guidelinesOrganize and analyze specimens, including quality control and validation of resultsFollow all laboratory safety procedures and protocolsPerform routine and preventive maintenance of laboratory instrumentsTrain and document proficiency of assigned employees and students as directedReceive and document incoming requests for specimen collection and blood drawsCoordinate daily technical activities to ensure timely and accurate test completionMonitor worksheets, pending logs, and uncollected listsAssist with maintaining laboratory suppliesPerform additional duties as assignedQualificationsQualified to perform moderate and high-complexity testing as defined by CLIA '88Minimum of 12 months training in an accredited Medical Laboratory Science program or equivalent experienceMust obtain certification within 6 months of hire if not already certifiedEducation / CertificationBachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related biological, chemical, or physical science from an accredited programCertification by a recognized national certifying agency (e.g., ASCP) required or obtained within 6 months
