They provide oversight of daily operations and supervise Case Managers and/or Financial Counselors. The Supervisor ensures that current patients have updated eligibility and authorization information on file prior to each appointment as well as provide financial assistance options to patients and education regarding financial responsibility. They work closely with the Clinical Staff Patient Services department and the Reimbursement department in providing and promoting customer service process flow operational integrity quality care and process improvement along with high service standards.Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PMMinimum Qualifications:Associates degree or higher and/or equivalent experience2 years of medical insurance case management or health care billing experience required previous supervisory experience medical terminology and coding experience preferred.Proficient at partner programs (i.e.: MS Outlook Word Excel).Ability to cope with ambiguous changing environment while under pressure in a calm manner.Must be able to work as a team member and develop productive and cooperative working relationships with all members of the Palmetto Infusion.Essential Functions:Directly supervises daily operations of Case Management and/or Financial Counselor team.Ensures clinic schedules have been verified by staff prior to each appointment including updated eligibility financial responsibility and valid authorizations are on file.Monitors all upcoming appointments and clinical follow ups to ensure that appropriate follow ups are completed timely.Explores all treatment scenarios to ensure best possible option for patient and organization.Reviews and helps disseminate medical policy for various payers and therapies.Provides on-going clear measurable performance expectations and feedback for staff. While performing the duties of this job the employee may be required to frequently stand walk sit bend twist talk and hear. There may be prolonged periods of sitting keyboarding reading as well as driving or riding in transport vehicles. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading distance computer and color vision.
