Registered Nurse - Operating RoomLangley Air Force Base, VA- Registered Nurse – Operating RoomMaxmed is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide services at Langley Air Force Base within their Operating Room Unit.Place of Performance: The work to be performed under this contract will be at 633 Medical Group, Langley AFB, Hampton VA.Work Schedule: Work hours are approximately 8-hour shifts, typically Monday – Friday. Schedule is limited to 40 hours weekly or 80 hours every 2 weeks. Typical shift start from 0630-1500, but some 8-hour variance may occur.On-Call Hours: Not to exceed 1000 hours per yearDuties are as follows:Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness.Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF.Perform physical exam and health histories.Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.Direct and supervise care provide by other healthcare professionals.Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.Perform nursing services identified in the TO.Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.Lift patients as needed with assistance from team members.Lift 20lbs surgical trays and bear prolonged standing.Follow assignments based on the needs of the unit: Nurse Manager of Surgical Specialty, Infection Control Monitor, Charge Nurse, and any additional administrative duties necessary for Surgical Operations.Qualifications:Degree: Associates Degree of Nursing.Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).Experience: One year of experience in nursing as identified in the TO after graduation.Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered NurseExperience: A minimum of 12 months experience is mandatory in operating room assignments. Experience must include all phases of operating room technique such as preparing operating room units, preparing patients for surgery; and assisting medical officer during surgery; and conducting instrument and equipment sterilization procedures.Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Life Support (ALS)
