This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing company vehicles, trailers, and equipment to ensure safe, efficient operations.What's in it for you?Elwood Staffing associates are eligible for a comprehensive and competitive benefits package plus an exclusive savings program, including:Medical/Vision/Dental/Rx plansHoliday PayTeladoc (online care)Referral Bonus IncentiveWeekly Pay401kAnd More!Mechanic Details:Temp-to-Hire position$20.00 to $25.00 / hourFull Time work availableFirst Shift (Monday through Friday from 07:00am to 03:30pm)Inspect, diagnose, and repair company trucks, trailers, and construction equipment.Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, brake service, tire repairs, and fluid checks.Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues to minimize equipment downtime.Maintain and repair small engines such as generators, compressors, saws, and other jobsite equipment.Complete preventative maintenance inspections and identify potential issues before failures occur.Keep accurate maintenance records, service logs, and equipment inspection reports.Assist with equipment setup, transportation preparation, and occasional field repairs as needed.Mechanic Qualifications:Wage depends on experiencePrevious experience working on small engines, diesel engines, trucks, trailers, or heavy equipment preferred.Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair equipment issues.Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and fuel systems.Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely.Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple repair tasks.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in both shop and outdoor environments.Applicant may be subject to a background checkApplicant may be subject to a Motor Vehicle ReportPre-employment drug screen is required as a condition of employment*A conviction record will not necessarily prevent you from being employed.
