Supervisor II

Job Description and Duties Under the general direction of the Administrative Services Manager II, the Supervisor II provides management oversight for the Business Systems Unit (BSU), Training, Outreach and Publications (TOP) Unit, and Electronic Adjudication Management System (EAMS) Unit. The Supervisor II directly supervises Supervisor I staff and is responsible for the quality and quantity of work produced by subordinate supervisors and their analytical and support staff. The incumbent oversees complex and high-priority initiatives, provides leadership and direction on program and operational matters, and collaborates with the DWC Executive Team, DIR Office of Information Systems, Department’s Communications Office, and other stakeholders to advance the Division’s business systems, outreach, education, and service delivery. This is an opportunity to lead critical statewide programs, develop staff, drive continuous improvement, and help shape initiatives that impact California’s workers, employers, and workers’ compensation community. Working Conditions This job is located at: 1515 Clay St. Oakland, CA 94612 The incumbent works in a office environment in an office setting with artificial light and temperature control. The incumbent is required to work extensively on the computer as necessary for email communication, research, drafting policy and procedure documents, and other purposes. Confidentiality must be maintained at all times. Telework will be offered in accordance with current departmental policy. Special Requirements The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff at all levels both within and outside of DIR to complete work assignments. The incumbent must exercise the ability to independently make decisions and perform actions having broad implications on various aspects of DIR’s business and outreach processes. In addition, the incumbent must demonstrate the ability to use the Internet, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Teams, and other desktop applications.
