Rehab and Integrative Veterinarian – Companion Animal Specialty and Emergency We are seeking a Board‑Certified or Residency‑Trained Rehab and Integrative Veterinarian to join our dynamic and compassionate team at the Companion Animal Specialty & Emergency Hospital (CASE) in Crystal Lake, IL. The ideal candidate will provide high‑quality veterinary care and build lasting relationships with clients. Key Responsibilities Comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups. Client communication and education. Maintain accurate medical records. Pharmacy duties including prescribing medications and following controlled substance protocols. Promote teamwork and staff efficiency. Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations. Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily hospital operations from intake to discharge. Monitor cases and attend daily rounds when possible to ensure highest standards. Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications (Required) Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university. 1‑year rotational internship in small animal medicine, surgery, or emergency medicine at a university or large referral practice. Completed a 3‑year AVMA‑approved residency program. Current State Veterinary License. DEA registration. Strong diagnostic and clinical skills. Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Commitment to providing compassionate and high‑quality veterinary care. Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with all members of the medical and hospital staff. Client communication skills, including eliciting information, establishing rapport, and offering explanations to pet owners. Display confidence and reassurance when dealing with pets experiencing severe stress, illness, or pain. Physical stamina for tasks involving climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Board Certification. 2‑5 years of experience post‑residency. Clinical knowledge and skills in examining and assessing animals, performing cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, neurological and other examinations, diagnosing and prescribing appropriate treatment. Problem‑solving skills for managing a high‑quality veterinary hospital. Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and internal staff. Professionalism, constructive criticism, and feedback.Business acumen regarding hospital management and finances. Ethics knowledge guiding decisions affecting patients.
