As a Hospital Pharmacist, you will be responsible for reviewing and verifying medication orders, performing clinical dosing assessments, and ensuring appropriate medication selection, dosing, and monitoring based on patient-specific factors. Daily responsibilities may include participating in interdisciplinary rounds, supporting antimicrobial stewardship and anticoagulation services, and providing drug information and education to the care team. You will oversee and verify sterile and non-sterile compounding in accordance with applicable standards, support controlled substance management, and contribute to medication safety initiatives. The patient population is primarily adult medical-surgical and may include intensive care, step-down, and specialty service lines depending on coverage needs and your experience. Typical staffing includes a mix of central pharmacy responsibilities and decentralized clinical coverage on nursing units to ensure timely interventions and close coordination with providers. Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, or a combination with rotating weekends and holidays, offering exposure to a wide variety of clinical scenarios and learning opportunities. The hospital environment is supportive and team-oriented, with pharmacists encouraged to participate in committees, quality projects, and educational programs that help shape medication-use practices.
