We are partnering with a premier boutique law firm in Falls Church, VA, specializing in franchise, trademark, and supply chain law. Founded by former large-firm partners seeking a better work-life balance, the firm prioritizes exceptional client service without the crushing pressure of a "Big Law" environment.

The Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Paralegal to join a dedicated team of attorneys. Because franchise law operates on a strict regulatory timeline, this role experiences a fast-paced busy season from January through mid-April, requiring an "all hands on deck" mentality. The remainder of the year offers fantastic work-life balance, generous summer hours, and a relaxed environment. Note: We are looking for someone who can start immediately to complete training prior to the new year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support regulatory attorneys in preparing, reviewing, filing, and managing franchise agreements, Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs), registrations, and renewals.
• Communicate directly with state regulators and manage the full contract lifecycle.
• Track statutory deadlines meticulously and ensure proactive follow-up so no filings are missed.
• Assist with corporate filings, governance documentation, and transactional duties (drafting default notices, M&A due diligence, and preparing closing binders).
• Provide litigation support, including drafting pleadings, electronic court filing (CM-ECF/PACER), document review, and exhibit preparation.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required. (Paralegal certificate preferred).
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience within a private law firm or corporate legal department. (Franchise law experience is highly preferred but not required).
• Track Record: A solid, stable work history demonstrating loyalty to previous employers.
• Skills: Exceptional attention to detail; negligent filings are unacceptable. Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Westlaw, and electronic docketing systems.
