Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide pulmonary care for critical, non-critical, and chronically ill patients of all ages. The successful candidate will work under the direction of a physician with minimal supervision, performing patient assessments and implementing respiratory care plans alongside various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Emergency response including Code Blue and White situations.
• Manage airway procedures, including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning.
• Delivery of aerosolized medications and ventilator management.
• Conduct patient evaluations and therapeutic monitoring.
• Perform blood gas collection and analysis, as well as EKG analysis.
• Accurate and complete documentation of patient care.
• Participate in CAP and JC surveys, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Assist in advanced practice skills such as bronchoscopy and hemodynamic monitoring.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1 - 3 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist preferred.
• Active RT or RCP license in the state of New Mexico.
• BLS certification from AHA required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by NBRC required.

Schedule

This position requires a full-time commitment with a night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
