The Early Childhood Assistant Teacher will work cooperatively with staff in the implementation, supervision, evaluation, and participation of daily activities to provide enjoyment and develop new skills and interests in the children ages 2-5 years old.Job responsibilities:Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of each child in a nurturing and supportive environment.Assist with daily care routines, including diapering, toilet training, meals/snacks, and classroom transitions.Assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum, activities, and learning experiences.Supervise and actively engage children during classroom activities, play, and daily routines.Maintain a clean, safe, organized classroom environment, including equipment and supplies.Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff while maintaining professionalism and appropriate boundaries.Follow YMCA policies, child protection practices, and state licensing requirements.Complete required documentation, attendance, timekeeping, trainings, and professional developmentParticipate in staff meetings and support program needs as assigned.Must be 18 years old but can be 17 with DPI courseAbility to provide proof of current CPR and First Aid Certification within 3 months of hireMust meet Wisconsin state licensing qualification as Assistant Teacher as minimum certificationExperience working with childrenWillingness to learn state licensing childcare regulations and procedures for Group Day Care Centers.Ability to work cooperatively with youth, parents, staff, and community organizationsJoy and satisfaction in working with childrenAbility to work with general supervisionBackground check cannot contain offenses restricted by state lawEmployee Benefits Include:Free FAMILY MembershipFlexible Work ScheduleA Team AtmosphereDiscount on Y ProgramsDiscount on Child CareThe Kenosha YMCA has zero tolerance for abuse of youth in its programs by employees or volunteers and will follow child abuse prevention policies, comply with mandated reporting requirements, and cooperate with law enforcement. #J-18808-Ljbffr YMC
