CNA Float Mental Health Aide

*** $3,000 HIRING INCENTIVE *** Job ID: 35771 Agency: Human Services Center Location: Yankton, SD Salary: $20.02 Hourly, depending on qualifications Pay Grade: E Closing Date: Open Until Filled Summary The float pool staff will work across all program areas of the SD Human Services Center: Adult Acute, Adolescents, Psych Rehab, Geriatrics, and the Intensive Treatment Unit. Float pool employees will work in the areas of highest need and will be assigned to an area daily. These positions perform personal care services by completing patient care assignments, providing an atmosphere conducive to treatment, and supporting patients with mental health and chemical dependency issues to meet their needs. Licenses And Certifications The Human Services Center provides a comprehensive employee orientation including completion of the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification. Knowledge Of mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, and chemical dependency patient safety procedures patient rights and confidentiality CPR and first aid Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Techniques Ability To accurately observe, recognize, report, and record physical symptoms and significant behavioral characteristics of patients carry out individual program plans for treatment of patients relate to and work constructively with patients detect significant or unusual patient behavior verbalize the needs of patients provide personal care services to patients follow oral and written instructions follow established policies and procedures listen and be empathetic with patients assist in lifting and transferring of patients lift 75 pounds work with patients displaying aggressive behavior communicate information clearly and concisely This position is eligible for Veterans' Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08. Successful applicants will be required to undergo a background investigation, abuse and neglect screening, and a drug screening.
