Registered Sleep Technician - Full Time - Nights

Schedule Full Time: Shift: 6:30pm–7:00am • Location: Perryville Clinic Essential Duties and Responsibilities Gather and analyze patient information; review history, physical information, medications, procedure requests, and study protocols; complete and verify documentation. Prepare and calibrate equipment for testing; ensure proper functioning and make necessary adjustments. Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards, including the 10/20 system. Perform physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signals; adjust as needed. Perform routine positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting. Conduct polysomnographic and other testing procedures following AASM and Center protocols, including Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT), parasomnia studies, routine polysomnography, PAP and oxygen titration, dental appliance titration, pediatric polysomnography, and other titrations to collect artifact‑free data. Assist with appropriate interventions (continuous and bi‑level PAP, oxygen administration, etc.) as per AASM and Center protocols. Conduct Home Sleep Apnea Testing (HSAT) following Center protocols. Follow Center protocols for cleaning and maintaining equipment and supplies. Provide age‑specific care and education to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Score polysomnographic records: evaluate sleep/wake stages, clinical events (respiratory, cardiac, limb movements, arousals, etc.) using AASM guidelines and Center‑specific protocols; generate accurate reports and correct as necessary. Perform clerical duties, including telephone and scheduling activities to ensure department efficiency and patient service. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Successful completion of a polysomnography program of no less than one year in duration at a state‑licensed and/or nationally‐accredited educational facility, or equivalent experience and documented proficiency in all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technician. Technicians not registered by the ABSM, BRPT, or NBRC must have completed the A‑STEP Online Self‑Study Modules. Certification and Licensure Current CPR certification. Holds a Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) credential or equivalent, or Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Certification by the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) as a Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), or Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist – Sleep Disorder Specialist (RRT‑SDS). Special Physical Demands Requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing. Occasionally required to handle, finger, feel, climb, and balance. Must lift up to 25lbs frequently and occasionally up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus; occasional distance vision may be required. Level of Supervision Performs duties under the general supervision of a Sleep Technician3, the medical director, or designee. May oversee and assist in training Sleep Technician1.
