Nurse (Intermittent Resource Pool Nurse)

Job Title

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of interdisciplinary care.
• Engages patients, families, and other caregivers to incorporate knowledge, values, and beliefs into care planning without judgement or discrimination.
• Communicates and treats the Veteran and as appropriate the Veteran's family, caregiver and/or significant other, the Veteran representatives, visitors to VA facilities, all VA staff, and other customers in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner.
• Provides the Veteran's family, caregiver and/or significant other, the Veteran's representative, visitors to VA facilities, all VA staff, and other customers with consistent information according to establish policies and procedures.
• Handles conflict and problems in dealing with any consumer group appropriately and in a constructive manner.
• Assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization consultation.
• Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others for all patient care areas included within Resource Pool assignments.
• Provides peers with informal constructive feedback for improvement and fosters a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of healthcare professionals.
• Leads efforts with management and within the Shared Governance Structure to alleviate identified care and culture disparities between units.
• Evaluates outcomes of evidence-based decisions and practice changes for individuals, groups, and populations.

Work Schedule: Shifts will be assigned on an "as needed" basis and could include the following tours: 7:30am - 4:00pm, 12:00am - 8:00am and 3:30pm - 12:00am.
