• Role: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse
• Contract Length: 13 Weeks
• Shift: 12-Hour Nights
• Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of PCU experience
• First-time travelers accepted with:
  • At least 2 years of total RN experience
  • Minimum 1 year of PCU experience

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS

Required Clinical Skills

Candidates must be proficient in:

• Reading and interpreting cardiac rhythms
• Caring for patients on BiPAP
• Caring for patients on High-Flow Oxygen
• Managing cardiac patients
• Trach care
• Chest tube management
• TR Band management
• Post-Cath Lab patient care
• Central line maintenance

Must Be Comfortable Managing Titratable Drips

• Diltiazem
• Amiodarone
• Heparin
• Digoxin
• Bumex
• Lasix

Patient Population

General Medical

• Diabetes (Type II)
• GI disorders
• GU disorders
• COVID
• Pneumonia
• Altered Mental Status (AMS)
• TIA
• AKI
• Dehydration
• Alcohol withdrawal (ETOH)
• Syncope
• CKD
• Sepsis
• Stroke
• Dialysis
• Pulmonary edema
• Anemia
• Shock
• Hypoxia

Cardiac

• CHF
• MI
• Atrial Fibrillation with RVR
• NSTEMI
• Chest Pain
• PCI pre/post care
• High-volume Post-Cath Lab patients
• Stent placement recovery
• Fresh Cath patients requiring 15-minute assessments
• No arterial lines

Oncology

• Leukemia
• Neutropenia
• Other oncology diagnoses
• Chemotherapy administration is NOT required unless specifically requested

Charting System

• Epic

Floating

• Required within scope to other units throughout the hospital

Weekend Requirement

• Minimum 2 weekend shifts per month
• For night shift, weekends are Friday and Saturday nights
• Sunday night is not considered a weekend shift
