Store Director

Location 50 Douglas Ave - Holland, Michigan 49424 Position Summary This role leads the day‑to‑day activities of an individual retail store, ensuring all departments are fully staffed, trained and operating to company standards. The store manager cultivates a positive, high‑performing, customer‑focused culture through effective leadership. Responsibilities include overseeing all financial aspects of the store, maintaining the physical location, and communicating and executing corporate plans. Responsibilities Provide focused and effective leadership to store associates to develop a high‑performing, customer‑focused store culture. Manage departments, including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and develop and monitor department goals. Develop and monitor department budget as required; prepare quarterly and yearly budgets with assistance. Oversee the overall profit and loss performance of the store, including budgeted sales, gross profit and controllable expenses. Ensure budgeted sales, gross profit and controllable expense goals are achieved through constant follow‑up. Coordinate store activities to ensure successful operations and compliance with safety, food safety, human resources, merchandising, loss prevention, labor regulations, OSHA and other audits. Ensure corporate merchandising and inventory programs are followed, partnering with corporate business partners as needed. Implement and maintain work schedules, labor control and store payroll expense control programs. Implement and model the OWN IT! (One customer to Wow Now by Interacting and providing Total satisfaction) service program, achieving high standards of customer service. Interact with the local community to positively position the Company’s presence. Maintain current knowledge of industry or local trends and best practices; recommend improvements to current programs and processes. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred) in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years of experience in a retail grocery environment with increasing levels of responsibility. Two years of experience in an assistant store manager or similar role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organization, prioritization, decision‑making, problem‑solving and conflict management skills. Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands‑on environment. Strong strategic planning and business acumen. Strong knowledge of retail store operations and retail management systems. Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. When required, ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift or move up to 20 pounds. Must frequently sit, stand, or walk. Work environment generally low to moderate noise; may become high in distribution settings.
