Position Summary Highly responsible clinical psychologist position within the Division of Operations, Bureau of Rapid Response and Support, in the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities. Responsibilities include supporting the APD Regional Offices with eligibility determination process and completing case reviews for forensic, CBC, and crisis request eligibility determination cases. Work You Will Do Conduct in-depth reviews and evaluate records to determine eligibility according to state and federal laws, rules, and procedures. Complete iBudget Waiver level of care determinations to ensure clients meet criteria for services through the home and community‑based services waiver program. Develop written summaries of eligibility determinations, document decisions in the client central record, and utilize agency business systems to conduct and document all work. Consult with agency legal counsel and serve as agency witness in hearings related to eligibility determinations, providing expert testimony and affidavits. Consult with regional and state office staff about the eligibility process and engage with intake and eligibility staff for case reviews and roundtable discussions. Complete periodic utilization reviews of eligibility determinations as assigned. Examine persons considered for involuntary admission and prepare reports/testimony regarding eligibility for agency services under Florida statutes. Perform in‑person psychological evaluations when needed and provide technical assistance to clients, legal representatives, and regional offices. Participate in case staffing as appropriate for APD applicants and clients and perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Proficiency with Microsoft Office systems. Valid driver’s license or other efficient means of transportation. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Apply clinical judgment regarding eligibility determinations and client services. Communicate effectively both in writing and verbally. Understand, apply and interpret applicable statutes, rules, regulations and policies. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, regional office staff, consumers, family members and other stakeholders. Work independently. Learn and communicate complex information. Plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office systems.
