One floor will be dedicated to labor and delivery, and will include nine labor, delivery, and recovery beds, 10 postpartum beds, two C‑section operating rooms, and future space for a level two Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary. Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions. Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self‑care strategies to promote understanding and compliance. Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Organizational and multi‑tasking skills Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures Ability to work as a team player within a unit Effective verbal, oral communication and problem‑solving skills Understanding of EKG procedures (refer to EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements) Fluent in English (read, verbal, and written) Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft Windows‑based programs High level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes Education Associate’s Degree in Nursing (required) Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred) Work Experience 1+ year acute‑care hospital setting (preferred) Licenses And Certifications Registered Nurse (RN) – required Basic Life Support – CPR (BLS) – required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – required Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – required Physical Requirements Physical Requirements – Pay Range $31.53 – $52.24 Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law) Certain positions are subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting, as required by state law.
