Mig / Wire WelderLocation: Sherman, TX Pay: $18.00–$23.00/hour DOE and weld test Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM | Friday, 7:00 AM–2:30 PM Overtime: Possible based on project needsSnelling is seeking experienced MIG / Wire Welders for a busy fabrication facility in Sherman, TX. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on welding experience who is comfortable working from drawings, setting up their own welding machine, and adjusting settings based on different material thicknesses.The weld shop is entering a very busy project period, so candidates need to be able to step in and contribute quickly. This is not an entry-level welding position; previous hands-on welding experience in a production, manufacturing, structural, or fabrication environment is required.The position is initially project-driven, but strong performers may have an opportunity for long-term employment. The company promotes from within and offers opportunities for wage growth based on performance, skill development, reliability, and work ethic.ResponsibilitiesPerform MIG / wire welding on structural and fabricated metal componentsRead and interpret blueprints, drawings, and fabrication printsSet up and adjust welding equipment for different materials and gaugesMeasure, fit, cut, and prepare material to specificationInspect completed welds and finished work for quality and accuracyUse hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipmentAssist with material handling and other shop duties as neededMaintain a clean and safe work areaWork effectively as part of a fabrication and welding teamQualificationsPrevious hands-on MIG / wire welding experience requiredMust have professional welding experience beyond classroom or welding-school trainingAbility to independently set up and adjust a welding machineAbility to weld different gauges of material and adjust settings appropriatelyAbility to read blueprints, drawings, and measurementsExperience in structural welding, metal fabrication, manufacturing, or a similar environment preferredMust be dependable with a strong work ethicMust be willing to assist in other areas when welding work is caught upPlasma table or plasma cutting experience is a plusForklift, crane, rigging, fitting, or additional fabrication experience is a plusMust be able to pass an onsite weld testStarting pay is based on experience and weld-test results, with opportunities for wage growth based on performance and skill development.
