Radiology Student Intern

St. Luke’s Radiography Technician positions in the X-ray department require qualified individuals to perform diagnostic imaging, assist patients, and maintain equipment. Responsibilities Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with radiation protection principles under the supervision of a registered technologist. Identify and perform diagnostic radiographic services while ensuring technical quality of the images. Assume responsibility for assigned area, ensuring all equipment and supplies are available for use. Demonstrate competency in RIS/HIS modules relevant to the role. Adhere to downtime procedures to maintain accurate information flow and continuity of patient care. Participate in in‑services and continuing education to maintain professional development. Provide patients with educational information regarding their examinations and discuss relevant patient history and condition. Ensure digital images sent to PACS are of high quality and correctly labeled, confirming patient selection from the worklist and accurate medical record information. Contribute to departmental goals such as PressGaney targets and overall service excellence. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to network and departmental policies on safety and reporting. Demonstrate service excellence in all interactions with customers, both internal and external. Show financial responsibility by utilizing resources efficiently in daily procedures. Adhere to attendance and dress code policies as specified by the network and department. Physical and Sensory Requirements Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate equipment, pull X‑ray folders, and retrieve chart information. Walking or standing for up to 8 hours per shift in 30‑minute increments. Lifting patients with assistance up to 300 pounds, and moving objects up to 30 pounds. Frequent stooping, crouching, bending, and lifting arms above shoulder level. Hearing and vision within normal limits. Education and Training Current student of an ARRT‑recognized radiography program. Completed clinical competencies in Chest, Abdomen, and Extremity categories. Valid BLS certification required.
