Position Overview

The role of the PICU Registered Nurse (RN) involves providing exceptional care to critically ill pediatric patients. The nurse will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care of patients within the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
Key Responsibilities

Maintain patient ratios of 1:2 while delivering high-quality nursing care.
Float to the NICU and Pediatric Emergency Department as needed.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Perform competencies including CRRT, ECMO, and management of inotropic drips.
Support intubated patients, including the potential to manage two intubated patients when required.
Shift Requirements

Shifts are rotating and include both day and night shifts. The RN will be required to work a minimum of:
4 weekend shifts per schedule for day shifts.
5 weekend shifts per schedule for night shifts, with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday considered as weekends.
Qualifications

Minimum of 1.5 years of pediatric intensive care nursing experience required.
BLS, PALS certifications, and a valid NM nursing license are mandatory.
First-time travelers are welcomed to apply.
Pending licenses are also accepted.
Additional Requirements

Clincial staff may occasionally be required to float to varying departments to meet patient care needs.
Experience with pediatric patient diagnoses such as respiratory failure, renal failure, trauma, and multi-system organ failure is preferred.
Flu vaccination is required for all staff.
Work Conditions

A minimum contracted hours of 36 per week is guaranteed, with the possibility of being called off up to three times during a 13-week assignment. Please note that any request for time off exceeding 7 days requires prior approval.
