Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU travel assignment at a Magnet-designated academic medical center in Madison, WI, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Neuro ICU setting within a Magnet-designated academic teaching and referral hospital
• Patient population includes ICU and IMC-level patients with neurological and neurosurgical conditions
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7p–7:30a
• Every other weekend required; if a scheduled weekend is requested off, a contingent weekend may be assigned
• Some holiday coverage required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Floating required as needed

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care ICU RN experience within the last 3 years
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Neurosurgery experience preferred
• Key skills include: arterial line management, central/PICC line care, ventilator management, EVD and ICP monitoring, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, post-craniotomy/post-neurosurgery care, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted

Additional Information

• A telemetry exam must be passed prior to starting the assignment; candidates have two attempts to pass with a score of 80% or higher
• The adult telemetry exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms (V-fib, V-tach, asystole) and no incorrect answers on 3rd-degree heart block questions
• The pediatric telemetry exam requires identification of V-fib, V-tach, asystole, and sinus bradycardia with a passing score of 80% or higher
• If the second attempt is failed, a certificate of completion from a cardiac interpretation review course must be submitted before a third attempt is granted; failure on a third attempt will result in assignment cancellation
• Located in Madison, WI; on-site parking requires a permit through UW Transportation, with alternative options including bus, park-and-ride, and private parking
