Communications Specialist - Evergreen

About the Role Communications Specialist – An integral part of PHI Health’s Communications Center, responsible for coordinating air medical transport requests and ensuring accurate documentation and efficient operations throughout the care continuum. Responsibilities Receive, coordinate, and relay requests for air medical transport. Maintain quality and accurate documentation of all Communications Center activities. Flight follow aircraft on missions and initiate emergency action plans in case of incident/accident. Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and other air medical transport providers. Calculate and provide price quotes for non‑emergent air medical transports. Coordinate all aspects of patient transports, nationally and internationally. Effectively manage the transfer center to ensure patient transfers are facilitated in a timely manner. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred: Prior fire, police, or EMS dispatch experience and medical terminology knowledge. Intermediate knowledge and proficiency with computer operating systems. Typing speed of at least 25 words per minute. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to handle stressful situations involving multiple simultaneous critical events in an organized and professional manner. EMT license preferred. Ability to pass pre‑placement drug screening and background check. Training Requirements Successful completion of Communication Specialist Academy. PHI New Hire Orientation Classes. PHI Destination Zero training. Successful completion of King County Emergency Medical Dispatcher Certification Program. Yearly recurrent training courses as required (including HIPAA and Code of Conduct).
