This commitment is made clear by the superior meat and seafood specialty products we distribute.There's a seat at our table for you...**Starting pay :** $19-23/hr**Schedule:** Mon - Fri 8am until finish**What we offer:** Medical, Prescription Drug, EFAP Benefits after 30 days of employment Dental, vision and other voluntary plans Pre-Tax Saving Accounts Profit Sharing Family culture and career advancement opportunities***Position Summary:***Responsible for portion and merchandising all boneless meat products.*****Essential Functions:****** Works with supervisors and production managers to schedule production.* Cleans, trims, slices, and portions subprimals of beef, pork, lamb and veal for future processing.* Inspects meat products for defects, bruises or blemishes.* Accurately reads and comprehends all customer specific special instructions.* Perform Quality Control checks and communicates with supervisors and manager any defects.* Separates meats and byproducts into specified containers and seal containers.* Uses knives, cleavers or other equipment to perform meat cutting and trimming.* Weighs meats and tag containers for weight and contents.* Follows company’s detailed product specifications.* Performs other duties as assigned.***Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:**** Must have working knowledge of production equipment.* Demonstrated ability to portion all boneless cuts of meat in an accurate and timely manner.* Ability to reduce processing costs but cutting and sizing portions accurately with good yields as well as meeting customer specs.* Ability to problem solve in terms of trimming and product substitutions.* Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure, challenging environment* Must be a team player and possess a positive attitude.* Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, in English.* Must demonstrate the ability to understand the Meat Buyer’s Guide specifications as they relate to the company’s internal product specifications.* Follows company’s Quality Control procedures.You are required to provide your most recent employment experience for your application to be considered complete.**BE PART OF AN AMAZING CULTURE WHERE WHAT MATTERS TO YOU, MATTERS TO US!**Halperns' Steak & Seafood values our customers and understands that their success is largely dependent upon their workforce.
