Job Description

The Quality Inspector performs in-process and final inspections on circuit boards across multiple stations on a production line. This role focuses on visual and hands-on inspection of wiring, connectors, and overall assembly quality, following step-by-step instructions provided on a tablet. The position requires consistent movement between different stages of production, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process inspections at various stages of the production line, including responding to calls for mid-line checks at specific stages.

• Conduct final inspections on circuit boards to ensure products meet defined quality standards before release.

• Follow detailed inspection instructions provided on a tablet to determine what components and features to check at each station.

• Visually inspect circuit boards, wiring, connectors, and assemblies to identify defects, misalignments, or missing components.

• Use hands-on checks, such as gently manipulating wiring or connectors, to verify proper installation and secure fit without using measurement tools.

• Rotate among up to 10 different stations on the production line, adapting to varying inspection tasks and workflows throughout the shift.

• Stand and move continuously throughout the shift to support multiple production lines as inspection needs arise.

• Document inspection results accurately and clearly, following established quality control and quality assurance procedures.

• Collaborate with production and quality team members to communicate issues, defects, or trends identified during inspections.

• Maintain a clean and organized inspection area and follow all manufacturing and quality control procedures.

• Demonstrate reliable attendance, consistent effort, and a positive attitude to support production and quality objectives.

• Read and understand instructions and documentation in English to perform inspection tasks correctly.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months to 1 year of manufacturing experience.

• Ability to perform detailed visual inspection of circuit boards, wiring, and connectors.

• Good eye for detail and strong focus on accuracy and quality.

• Ability to read and understand instructions in English.

• Comfort standing and moving throughout the production floor for the entire shift.

• Ability to follow step-by-step instructions on a tablet or similar device.

• Strong attitude, consistent effort, and reliable attendance in a manufacturing environment.

• Capability to perform quality inspection and quality control tasks without the use of traditional measurement tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with wiring, assembling, or working with electronic components.

• Exposure to quality control, quality assurance, or quality inspection processes.

• Familiarity with visual inspection techniques and basic quality checks.

• Experience in environments that may use systems such as Oracle or RMA processes is beneficial.

• Awareness of basic measuring concepts, calipers, or micrometers, even though they are not used in this role.

• Ability to work effectively on a second shift schedule starting in the early afternoon.

• Comfort working in a contract-to-hire arrangement with the potential, but not guarantee, of long-term employment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility in Poway with more than 100 employees. You will work on a production floor focused on power conversion systems and circuit board assemblies, rotating among up to 10 stations on various production lines. The environment is clean, organized, and designed to support efficient, high-quality manufacturing. You will work on a second shift schedule, starting at approximately 1:30 PM, and will spend most of the day standing and moving between different stages of production. The facility includes a breakroom with free coffee and snacks, and you will use a tablet to receive inspection instructions and document results as part of the standard workflow.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of POWAY, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
