Job Summary:

Oversee the clinical care coordination of patients undergoing electrophysiology (EP) procedures, such as catheter ablations, lead extractions, and other heart rhythm interventions.

Work closely with electrophysiologists, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare teams to ensure smooth, safe, and effective patient care.

Responsibilities:

Monitors departmental compliance with regulatory and compliance requirements.

Provides both direct and indirect patient care appropriate to patients served to achieve desired outcomes for the patient with consideration of age and cultural differences.

Assists management with operational activities of the department including development of nursing staff advancement based on contemporary safe evidence-based nursing practice.

Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care. Performs quality assurance studies and assists with implementation of quality assurance and/or improvement initiatives.

Serves as resource to staff and external contacts on issues related to patient care, patient flow and clinical standards, policies and procedures.

Utilizes efficient decision making and problem solving to ensure quality service and promote patient and employee satisfaction.

Communicate effectively with peers and interdisciplinary teams to achieve desired outcome for patients.

Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Associate's degree in nursing. Bachelor's degree in nursing is highly preferred.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Required Credential(s):

Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Certification in area of specialty a plus.

One or more of the following:

Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Red Cross obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a progressive leadership or supervisory role.

Strong clinical expertise in cardiac care, leadership in program coordination, and specialized knowledge of EP procedures and patient management.

Prior experience in electrophysiology or program coordination is preferred.

Demonstrated  clinical assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation skills.

Proficiency in  electrophysiology procedures such as ablation, lead extraction, and device management.

Ability to interpret 12-lead ECGs, cardiac rhythms, and device data (pacemakers, defibrillators, heart monitors, smartwatch ECGs).

Experience with  hemodynamic monitoring, central venous access devices, arterial lines, and IABP

Strong  patient/family education skills for cardiac procedures, medications, and follow-up care.

Must be able to effectively communicate information in English. Ability to speak another language in addition to English a plus.

Membership in a professional nursing organization is preferred.

Strong Knowledge of high reliability.

Ability to manage and organize multiple clinical priorities for self and the team.

Strong computer skills and use of industry applications/programs. Ability to learn new technology and programs as advancements and changes are implemented.
