Sr. Payroll Specialist

Job Summary Process payroll transactions and perform data entry and accounting services. Requires 5-7 years of payroll processing experience in a fast‑paced, multi‑state environment. Comprehensive knowledge of wage and hour laws, garnishment laws, and wage taxability. CPP or FPC preferred but not required. Candidates must be located near our Minnetonka, MN office; the role is hybrid with two days a week in office. Responsibilities Lead daily, biweekly, and special payroll processes for multi‑state payroll for U.S. non‑exempt and exempt employees. Process payroll for up to 500 employees. Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports. Maintain payroll control records. Provide guidance to the team on payroll processing, tax laws, garnishments, system issues, and general troubleshooting. Assist with mentoring of payroll specialists and act as backup for their duties. Work with the team to research and respond to escalated employee inquiries. Authorize, review, and prepare complex payroll transactions. Assist with final payroll check calculation review. Perform adhoc projects as needed. Assist in month, quarter, and year‑end close. Complete verification of employment, garnishments, and EDD notices as needed. Provide support to managers and employees with Workday’s time‑tracking and absence modules. Back up payroll transmit processes. Qualifications 5-7 years payroll processing experience. Extensive payroll experience in a fast‑paced, multi‑state, demanding environment. Comprehensive knowledge of wage and hour laws, garnishment laws, and taxability of wages. Experience with UKG Workday. Highly proficient in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and formulas). Ability to work in a fast‑paced and high‑volume environment. Associate degree preferred. Pay Range Position's Pay Range: $31.88 - $35.94 per hour.
