Live Receiving Lead - Live Receive 2nd Shift Liberty

Job Title

Primarily responsible for assuring all procedures are followed in achieving the highest level of productivity in the most cost-efficient manner possible while still maintaining customer specifications. Direct and lead a team of employees ensuring compliance with all food safety programs and enforcing Shenandoah Valley Organic policies. Responsible for employees' performance development safety and work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervising hourly team members to ensure quality work and operational standards are met daily.
• Resolving team member issues and promoting team member engagement
• Being responsible for promoting a safe work environment/culture among team members. Adhere to all safety requirements including PPE; preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions.
• Assist Supervisor on getting the Live Receiving Department started daily on time.
• Fill in as needed at any position to ensure a consistent product flow.
• Assist Supervisor with Production paperwork as needed.
• Respond to USDA inspectors and their concerns in a timely and correct manner.
• Help train new team members and monitor their performance.
• Assist other supervisors and managers with issues in other departments in the plant.
• Perform production checks to ensure the department is performing to standards.
• Adhere to all Animal Welfare/Humane Slaughter policies.

Job Requirements

• Excellent attendance is required of all applicants.
• Person selected must know or be willing to learn all the jobs in the department.
• Basic math and reading skills.
• Ability to do paperwork as needed.
• Proven performance and positive attitude.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 70 pounds.
• Other Job Duties as needed
