Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days, Saturday & Sunday with rotating days; Monday & Friday Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:30 AM - 7 PM) Experience: 24 months of current operating room experience, circulating and scrub experience preferred License: Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) Must-Have: - 24 months of current operating room experience - Circulating and operating room experience - Experience with general, da Vinci robotics, pediatrics, and trauma cases - EPIC electronic medical records experience within the last 3 years - Trauma Level II experience Description: The position involves working in a busy operating room with an average of 35-50 cases per day. Nurses will be expected to manage patient ratios of 1:1. The facility is a Level 1 trauma center and services various specialties, including cardiac, neurology, orthopedics (primarily trauma), gynecology, urology, general surgery, pediatrics, and transplants. Nurses will primarily scrub or circulate during procedures and may be required to float across different campuses. The average turnover time for cases is less than 20 minutes. Experience with specialty equipment such as da Vinci robots is preferred. On-call responsibilities include coverage from the end of the shift on Friday until 6:30 AM on Monday. Holiday rotation will require the nurse to work 1-2 of the three upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed. Travelers will not be allowed for first-time assignments; candidates must have completed a travel assignment within the last 15 months.
