Salary: $25 - $29 / hour Dependent on education, experience, credentials, location, nature of practice, schedule, and additional responsibilities.

VCA A Breed Apart is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our AAHA-accredited, 5-doctor practice in Pasadena, California.

Position Available for a Full-Time

Responsibilities require proficiency in phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, as well as stress-free handling, digital radiography, administration of vaccines, and medications. The ideal candidate will also possess great attendance, client communication skills, superior customer service skills, attention to detail, and a desire to work in a great team atmosphere. Salary will be based on the level of experience.

Essential Functions:

• Venipuncture
• Catheter placement
• Radiology
• Physical examinations, patient assessment, and record keeping
• Surgical preparation and assisting
• Dentistry
• Laboratory work
• Pharmacy
• Patient recovery
• Compassionate care for hospitalized patients
• Client Relations
• Housekeeping/Maintenance

Qualifications:

• Must have documented previous animal hospital experience
• Animal Handling
• Anesthesia monitoring
• Dentistry (Preferred, not required)
• Capable of being cross-trained for front office receptionist duties that will be expected in the job
• Must be friendly, outgoing, "People-oriented."
• Flexibility in hours, including but not limited to evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Customer service skills, including phone skills
• Working knowledge of computers
• Excellent communications skills
• Team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments
