Clinical Research Coordinator- Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep

Clinical Research Coordinator – Responsibilities Coordinate daily clinical research activities in accordance with approved protocols for the Critical Care Trials Group. Assess patient records to identify eligible participants and recruit, interview, and enroll patients. Obtain informed consent and ensure the consent process complies with regulatory and sponsor requirements. Educate patients and families about study purpose, goals, and procedures. Coordinate scheduling and follow‑through of patient care appointments, procedures, and diagnostic testing per protocol. Collect, process, and evaluate biological samples and administer standardized testing or questionnaires. Monitor patients for adverse reactions, document findings, and notify clinical professionals as appropriate. Assist with protocol compliance monitoring and data collection, extraction, coding, and analysis. Generate reports and reviews to ensure data validity and support compliance with IRB, FDA, and other regulatory agencies. Co‑ordinate and prepare for external quality assurance and control reviews by IRB, federal or industry sponsors. Participate in developing new research protocols and contribute to establishing study goals to meet protocol requirements. Minimum Education Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, or a related medical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Experience One year of relevant clinical research experience. Preferred Experience Two to four years of relevant experience. Familiarity with medical terminology and the relevant specialty area. Clinical research certification from an accredited agency is an asset. Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft applications. Other Requirements Successful completion of a background check. Qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre‑employment physical and drug screen. Patient‑facing role requiring on‑site presence at the University Hospital at The Ohio State University. Evening, weekend, holiday, and on‑call hours expected; occasional travel within the Columbus Metropolitan area may be required. Work Settings and Hours On‑site work at the University Hospital and occasional travel to locations including Dublin, New Albany, East Hospital, Outpatient East, Powell, and Martha Morehouse Pavillion.
