Welder HelperLocation: Amarillo, TXPay: $18.00/hourJob Type: Full-Time, Evaluation-to-HireSchedule: Mondayâ€"FridayIndustry: Manufacturing / FabricationJob SummaryExpress Employment Professionals is seeking a dependable Welder Helper for a local manufacturing client in Amarillo. The Welder Helper will assist experienced welders with material preparation, fabrication, equipment setup, grinding, measuring, and general shop duties. This is a great opportunity for someone with welding or manufacturing experience who is looking to build their skills and advance in the trades.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist welders with cutting and preparing structural steel and other materials.Help with tank and structural component fit-up.Assist with the setup, use, and basic maintenance of welding equipment.Read and follow basic mechanical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.Prepare welding wire, filler materials, and other supplies as needed.Use measuring tools and instruments to ensure materials meet specifications.Perform grinding, finishing, and cleanup using hand and power tools.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE.Assist welders and other production team members as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferred.Previous experience in welding, manufacturing, construction, fabrication, or a related field preferred.Basic knowledge of welding tools and processes such as MIG, TIG, or Stick is a plus.Ability to read basic blueprints, technical drawings, or welding symbols is preferred.Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.Ability to lift up to 80 pounds as needed.Ability to stand, bend, reach, and work for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.Physical Requirements & Work EnvironmentMust be able to lift and move materials weighing up to 80 pounds occasionally.Must be comfortable standing and working for extended periods.Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment.Ability to bend, reach, walk, and maneuver throughout a manufacturing environment.Work may involve exposure to noise, dust, welding fumes, and other typical manufacturing conditions.Proper PPE and safety procedures are required.Benefits of Working with Express Employment ProfessionalsCompetitive payEvaluation-to-hire opportunityWeekly payAccess to available benefitsSupport from your local Express Employment Professionals teamOpportunities for career growth and advancementExpress Employment Professionals is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
