Health Aide

Kitchen Aide / Health Aide

Under the supervision of the Health and Nutrition Supervisor, the Kitchen Aide / Health Aide is responsible for assisting to maintain up-to-date health records of children enrolled in the Children's Services program, as well as serve as assisting the kitchen prepare meals for consumption in a sanitary and efficient manner following the regulations set by the Head Start standards, the Department of Health and licensing regulations. The individual will be responsible for assisting in the ordering, receiving and storage of food deliveries as well as health supplies and equipment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required;
• Current or former parent/guardian of a child receiving Head Start / Early Head Start services;
• Fluent verbal and written English and Spanish communication required;
• Completion of Food and Sanitation Certification course may be required;
• Proof of physical examination, tuberculosis and measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) screening within the last six months required;
• Successful completion of First Aid/CPR certification required;
• Current, valid Illinois driver's license and proof of insurance required;
• Reliable means of transportation required.

Wage/Salary Range:

• $18.50 / hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday (some weekends and evenings may apply as needed for recruitment events)
