Senior Accountant

I am looking for a Senior Project Accountant to join a well-established, privately-held commercial real estate company in the Baltimore area. Why This Role? Join a company with deep roots in commercial real estate and mixed-use entertainment development, offering a rare mix of stability and creative, high-profile assets Step into a managerial capacity, managing a diverse portfolio of properties end-to-end Exposure to sports-anchored entertainment districts and dynamic mixed-use developments alongside more traditional retail/shopping center assets Beautiful, high-energy office environment with a hybrid schedule Strong internal visibility - this role reports into and works closely with senior finance leadership Key Responsibilities Serve as a team lead within the accounting/finance department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (budgets, income statements, balance sheets) across multiple commercial properties Own the management reporting package: rent rolls, vacancy reporting, delinquency reporting, and ad hoc reports for stakeholders Review annual tenant CAM, tax, and other expense pass-through reconciliations, resolving landlord/tenant differences Support third-party audits and tax package preparation Partner with the accounting manager on fiscal strategy and process improvement Maintain and enhance financial recordkeeping systems and internal controls Provide documentation support for lease-related disputes or legal matters as needed Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or equivalent combination of education and experience) 2+ years of accounting experience; commercial real estate experience a strong plus Public accounting background (larger/national firm experience) highly valued Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines and treat sensitive information with discretion Occasional after-hours work required during close periods #J-18808-Ljbffr Synergy Search
