Qualifications:

1. Minimum Education/Certification: High school graduate or equivalency, no prior experience is required.

2. Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Working knowledge of the proper methods of serving food and of the care of tableware, glassware, silver and kitchen appliances.

• Working knowledge of cleaning methods and the use of cleaning supplies and appliances.

• Ability to follow simple oral and written directions.

• Physical strength and stamina.

• Physical condition commensurate to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Reports To: Cafeteria Manager

Dept./School: Cafeteria

Wage/Hour: Minimum Wage/Hourly

Primary Purpose - Works under the direct supervision of Cafeteria Manager who checks work for conformance to instructions.

Major Responsibilities and Duties

1. Assists in the cutting, washing or otherwise preparing of food items for cooking.

2. Prepares simpler food items such as toast, eggs, juices, sandwiches, salads, etc.

3. Loads and serves foods as assigned.

4. Arranges dishes, cutlery, napkins, etc.

5. Gathers used dishes, cutlery, and trays for washing, etc.

6. Cleans kitchen area.

7. Assists as relief cashier when needed.

8. Other cafeteria related duties as assigned.

Equipment Used: Equipment and utensils as required by job duties.

Working Conditions: Fast-paced food service environment.
